My top 5 eyeshadow palettes so far this year.
- Revolution beauty Newtrals 2 palette £4
This palette has taken me by surprise so much! It is crazy to think that this palette only costs £4 and it is one I go to constantly, even over my higher end brands. The colour scheme is just stunning, I love the red and raspberry shades that are really on trend at the moment. Also the combination of the peach and oranges with the neutral browns, it really is a palette you can wear not only every day but for more experimentation as well. The shadows themselves blend really nicely and the colour pay off is unreal, especially for the price.
2. Lime Crime – Venus XL Palette £54
This is my most expensive palette at the moment, It also happens to be one of my favourites. The packaging is something from another planet, its heavy, the mirror is huge and most importantly the eyeshadows themselves are a dream. I love the pinks and burgundies, you can go from pretty and girly to grunge and goth all in one palette. It also have a really nice mixture of mattes and shimmers for more wearable looks.
3. Jeffree Star – Blood Sugar Palette £48
This is one, I actually queued online for. I don’t think I have ever done that before. I managed to pre order it from beauty bay and I was one of the lucky ones to get my hands on it. The packaging is just gorgeous, it looks like a little medicine travel bag, and can we talk about the colours? It has all of my favourite colours in it, from hot pink, to metallic red, to really nice transition shades. This is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but it is also one of my favourites. I have always got on really well with Jeffree’s eyeshadow formula and just love the blend-ability.
4. I Heart Makeup -Dragons heart Palette £6.99
This is another drug store brand that I have really started to enjoy, their cute branding and packaging caught my eye. But when I tried their eyeshadow palettes, this one really blew me away. The mixture of warm neutrals with the pops of purples and gold really make this a very pretty palette. I have been wearing this non stop this week and have been loving it. The pigmentation is really strong and they blend seamlessly. This brand is owned by Revolution, my all time favourite drug store UK brand.
5. Lunatik lab cosmetics Elvira Palette £23.00
Now this palette is a little more on the pricier side, especially considering there is only 6 eyeshadows in the palette compared to the Newtrals 2 palette that has 15 shades. Now these eyeshadows are sooooo creamy, the black shade is probably one of my favourite matte black shadows of all time. The shadows themselves actually differ in formula, as some of them are nicer than others. However the larger pan is one of my favourite transition shades, and it also makes me happy that it is larger than the others as I use it the most. Can we just talk about the packaging though, it has a pop up candelabra and cobweb. The mirror is in the shape of a dagger and the palette is in the shape of a coffin, with the forever fabulous Elvira on the front. Can it get any more awesome ? I don’t think it can.
I really want to try some newer indie brand palette, have you got any favourites?
