L’Oréal Colorista Indigo Blue Hair Dye Review

I first saw this hair dye being announced when Sophie Hannah Richardson spoke about it on her instagram. If you don’t know who she is, then you need to follow her blog. She is a fashion mermaid style guru, that also happens to be the model on the box of this hair dye!

When I saw this colour I knew it was what I wanted for a new colour change in the new year. It is a gorgeous deep purplish shade of indigo that I haven’t seen in a box colour ever before. So obviously I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I managed to find it in my local Superdrug priced at £6.99. I bought two boxes just in case because for some reason my hair won’t stop growing atm!

Included is two pairs of gloves, instructions and the bottle of dye. It says the bottle is big enough for two applications. But I ended up using a bottle and a half. I dont think you could get two goes out of it unless your hair was really quite short.

It says to leave on for 15 minutes or 20 for a stronger colour, but I ended up leaving it on for about 25 minutes and I am so happy with the result. It is more purple than I thought it would be, but it definitely has that gorgeous indigo tone to it that I was after. The dye itself doesn’t really smell and leaves your hair feeling really soft and silky.

I haven’t got around to taking a nice photo of it yet, but I will tomorrow. It says on the packet it will last for up to 10 washes, so I will let you guys know how I get on with it.

update on how well it lasts click here for new blog post!

Overall I am in love with my new year colour! What do you guys think?

Anyone else having a hair colour change?

Lots of love

  1. I have it, and I love it. I don’t bleach my hair, I just dye the grey I have (which it all up front). I was pretty pleased with the colour. After 1 or 2 washes it faded to where it was the same colour as my Fallout 4 hoodie, and then got progressively lighter as time went on. I get jokes when it’s sky blue about dying my hair like an old lady, but I really did like the colour. I’ve managed 2 applications out of one bottle, which isn’t bad for me.
